Welcome to the TIP Model Orientation and Training
The Transition to Independence Process (TIP) system is an evidence-supported practice based on published studies that demonstrate improvement in real-life outcomes for youth and young adults with emotional/behavioral difficulties (EBD). These outcomes have been demonstrated at sites where personnel have undergone competency-based training that is conducted at the community site and through teleconference supports provided by Certified TIP Model Consultants. The TIP model training materials are designed for personnel serving transition-age youth and young adults (14-29 years old) and their families.
Through this website one can access TIP Model Orientation through online modules and associated quizzes. These materials are particularly helpful for assisting in orienting new personnel to the TIP Model at your site as a way of helping to sustain your transition program.
“Our agency, our staff, and our clients truly benefited from the training…the TIP Model helped our agency increase positive outcomes and helped our young adults become self-sufficient…”

“Both Elijah and Coral are wonderful trainers -- knowledgeable, funny, creative, energetic, sincere, engaging, leaders, passionate, warm, and outstanding teachers. That was the consensus of all mentors and staff during our three-day training. The mentors asked a lot of questions and were very engaged.”
